Deepwood Estate's Third Annual Tea in the Garden "Purple Party" was a smashing success.
About 250 women attended, many of them from Red Hat Society chapters.
Desserts and iced teas were served after the special music by the Shirley, Shirley & Pat
Trio, and then we heard our guest speaker, Jody Houghton,
writer/illustrator/Queen Mother/Purple Lady. Jody wrote an Americanized version of the poem,
Warning, by Jenny Joseph, which includes lines about growing older with a sister and friend.
Great fun was had by all. |
