Jan Lambert
of the Chintz Tea Cup in Sellwood put on a fabulous Halloween tea
for us. Nine Red Hatters were there from three different
chapters. Door prizes were given for various categories. The
scariest hat, which went to Ida Partlow, whose hat was covered with
cobwebs, spiders, etc. The
funniest hat prize went to Sandy Black, whose purple hair was as tall as
Marge Simpson's, topped with a red hat. The
most creative design went to Queen Jill, who had red and purple feather
flowers sticking out all over her red hat. The
food was delicious; scones with clotted cream, lemon curd and jam, three
kinds of finger "sandwitches" (get it?), three kinds of fruit,
pumpkin soup, fabulous cookies and chocolate, and three kinds of tea. Later
Shawna arrived to read our tea leaves. Hazel had hers read first,
then Jill. It was fun and quite amazing at how "right on"
Shawna was as to what she saw in our leaves. Our
own Nelda Cox was there, and Char also brought a lady named
Nelda.
Two Neldas. What a kick! A great time was had by all. |
