Princess
Jill Schaffer treated 22 of us to a spectacular Valentine’s Tea in her
lovely home. Everything was decorated in a Victorian style
St. Valentine’s theme, with garland swags gathered together with
sparkling hearts draping the stairway, and many Victorian Valentine
cards scattered throughout the rooms, up the staircase and on the
mantle. Scented candles cast a warm glow in every room.
Ivy was hanging under kitchen cabinets with tiny heart shaped red lights,
and there was a beautiful swag over the family room door with hearts and
fairy lights.
Tiny
hearts were scattered on the tables, which were set with red heart
napkins and individually decorated sugar cubes for our tea, as well as
baskets of heart shaped chocolates.
The
food!!! To die for lavender and plain scones with Devonshire
Cream, strawberry jam, and lemon curd; Yummy fruit salads; tasty
broccoli salad; dainty, delectable tea sandwiches filled with chicken
salad or a veggie mix; heart-shaped cucumber and cream cheese
sandwiches. Dessert included hand dipped chocolate
strawberries, cream puffs, chocolate truffles, chocolate brownies, and a
mouth watering raspberry cake and many other treats.
There
were door prizes for some lucky ladies, and party favors of a
lavender sachet and pouch of Valentine candy and a candle for each
guest, decorated with ribbon and valentine and tea-themed charms.
Princess
Jill outdid herself. She had been planning this for a
year. Every detail was extremely well thought out.
Thank you Princess Jill! Her husband, Tom, and daughter,
Christine, helped with everything that day, and a special thanks goes to
them also...
