The owners
of the Helvetia Lavender Farm have created a beautiful tea pavilion
nestled in the trees and gardens overlooking the rolling hills of Helvetia.
Nancy Miller and her wonderful staff created a lovely tea for us,
with beautiful china, delicious food and an amazing view. We
celebrated America's independence wearing red, white and blue, and
had patriotic door and table prizes. After the tea, Nancy gave
an“All About Lavender” presentation regarding growing,
harvesting, making lavender products, the healing properties of lavender,
and cooking with lavender.
Helvetia,
an historic Swiss settled area 30 minutes west of Portland,
Is a fantastically beautifully countryside of rolling hills with views of Mt.
Hood in the distance, overlooking the scenic Willamette Valley.
The Pacific Crest Alpaca Farm, with several hundred purebred
alpacas, and the Helvetia Winery, are both adjacent
neighbors. The Helvetia Tavern of hamburger fame is a nearby
landmark.
The Miller
family supports Good Samaritan Ministries in reaching out to
needy people locally and to widows and orphans in Ukraine and Uganda.
